Special Abilities:
Amphibious: The Tyraloon can breathe both air and water.
Sharkhide: The Tyraloon’s tough skin grants resistance to slashing damage.
Aquatic Raider: The Tyraloon can Dash as a bonus action while underwater.
Tentacled Senses: The Tyraloon has advantage on Perception checks that rely on smell or to detect movement in water within 30 feet.
Shipwrecker: The Tyraloon has advantage on Strength checks made to damage objects (such as ship hulls, doors, or containers).
Pirate’s Arsenal: The Tyraloon does not suffer disadvantage on attack rolls with spears, tridents, or halberds underwater.
 
Actions:
Multi-attack: The Tyraloon makes two attacks: one with its Sword or Spear, and one with its Bite.
Sword (Out of Water): Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage.
Spear/Halberd (In Water): Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft. (halberd) or 5 ft. (spear), one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) piercing damage.
Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be grappled (escape DC 14).
Tentacle Whip (Recharge 5–6): The Tyraloon lashes its head-tentacles at creatures in a 10-foot line. Each creature in the line must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or take 13 (3d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage and be disoriented (disadvantage on attack rolls) until the end of its next turn.
 
Reaction:
Hull Ripper: When the Tyraloon is within 5 feet of a ship’s hull or similar structure, it can use its reaction to make a Strength (Athletics) check with advantage to tear open a hole or breach a barrier.
 
Description:
Tyraloon are hulking, aquatic humanoids with the heads of moray eels, rows of sharp teeth, and skin as tough as a shark’s hide. Black, flexible tentacles stream from the backs of their heads, often adorned with beads or shells like dreadlocks. Tyraloon are infamous pirates and raiders, equally at home in the water or swaggering the decks of a stolen ship. Their webbed hands and feet make them superb swimmers, and their predatory cunning marks them as deadly foes both above and below the waves.
