Welcome to the world of Barsalyhs (Bar Suh Leez). There are many worlds throughout the planes of existence, however Barsalyhs is unique. For one, it is almost equal parts land and water. Two, it is a vast world with magics, monsters and mystery like one has never seen. Three, the world is largely unexplored. There may, indeed, be strange kingdoms, and even stranger creatures, to be discovered. We know of only one person… one wizard… who traveled extensively through Barsalyhs and at the end of his travels… Well, lets just say that Xarath Torlax started a war that almost destroyed two continents and took several thousand lives. The Xarath War has been over for four hundred years, but we are still recovering, still afraid of our own shadows. But who can blame us?
There are pockets of evil in Barsalyhs that will keep you awake through the night for fear it’s coming after you. Rumors that Castle Nefrachoros and the vampire sisters who used to dwell there have risen again and are spreading their chaos.
But there are treasures like you have never seen. Wyrmcrystal, from the sea wyrm breeding grounds near Zakour to enhance your magic. Watching a Skrael form before your very eyes. Drinking Brassberry wine at sunset on the coast of Fyrn during the Terbrook Spirit Festival. All of these things are amazing. But I once found a shipwreck on The Haunted Coast of a type that had never been seen before! Imagine it! A type of ship that had never been seen! From a kingdom that is somewhere out in the great expanse of Barsalyhs. And the treasures I found that day are beyond words.
But, it’s your turn adventurer. I am too old to travel, even if the spirit was still within me. I leave this exploration and discovery to those who have the courage to look upon more than just the familiar. Good luck to you.
