Special Abilities:
- Relentless Hive Defender: If the Albino Death Bumble is within 100 feet of its hive, it has advantage on saving throws and attack rolls.
- Deadly Venom: When the Albino Death Bumble hits a creature with its Sting, the target must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or take 22 (4d10) poison damage and become poisoned for 1 minute. While poisoned in this way, the creature is paralyzed. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
- Honey of Death: The bumble’s hive produces a rare, luminous white honey that is both a highly sought delicacy and a prized potion ingredient. Collecting the honey is dangerous: any attempt to harvest it without pacifying or distracting the hive provokes the entire swarm. A successful DC 18 Nature or Animal Handling check allows safe collection of one vial.
- Swarm Call (1/Day): As an action, the Albino Death Bumble can release a resonant buzz, summoning 2d4 Giant Wasps (MM) in 1d4 rounds. These wasps are hostile to intruders and defend the hive until destroyed or the threat is gone.
Action:
- Multi-attack: The Albino Death Bumble makes two attacks: one with its Mandibles and one with its Sting.
- Mandibles: Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 4) slashing damage.
- Sting: Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 4) piercing damage plus Deadly Venom (see above).
- Blinding Pollen (Recharge 5–6): The bumble shakes its wings, spraying a cloud of pale pollen in a 20-foot cone. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be blinded and poisoned for 1 minute. A blinded creature repeats the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending both conditions on a success.
Reaction:
- Defensive Buzz: When targeted by an attack, the Albino Death Bumble can emit a deafening buzz, imposing disadvantage on the attack and all other attacks against it until the start of its next turn.
Description:
The Albino Death Bumble is a massive, snow-white albino bumblebee, roughly the size of a wagon. Its fur is almost luminescent, and its black, glassy eyes reflect a predatory intelligence. These aggressive giants build sprawling hives in remote groves or cliff faces, each hive buzzing with hundreds of lesser bumbles. Their honey—white as milk and faintly glowing—is fiercely protected, both a delicacy and a coveted magical ingredient for healing and transformation potions. Attempting to steal from an Albino Death Bumble hive is a perilous feat, for these creatures attack intruders with deadly venom and unyielding ferocity.
